About This Spot

Ripieno's Italian Bistro feels like a tucked-away neighborhood gem where warm smiles and the inviting aroma of wood-fired pizza greet you the moment you step inside. Nestled just off the bustling Coastal Highway in Ocean City, this spot carries the easygoing rhythm of a casual local eatery, where friends and families gather to share simple pleasures over familiar flavors.

The atmosphere here is unpretentious yet heartfelt—the kind of place where the staff’s genuine enthusiasm becomes part of the experience, and the buzz of conversation feels like background music rather than noise. It’s a space that strikes a comfortable balance: lively without being rushed, cozy without feeling cramped, making it an ideal refuge after a day along the shore.

Food unfolds as a quietly celebrated ritual at Ripieno’s. Their pizzas, cooked in a wood-fired oven, offer a rich interplay of textures—from crispy, thin skins to melty, bubbling cheese—and carry a thoughtful balance of toppings that invite slow savoring over conversation. Salads and sandwiches add a fresh, homemade touch that complements the hearty mains without fuss or pretense. Whether it’s a shared 28-inch pizza or a freshly grilled chicken salad, the plates feel crafted for connection—meant to be enjoyed with the people beside you rather than rushed through solo.

What stands out is the sense of discovery woven into the visit. From the humble mozzarella sticks to creative combinations on the pizza, each bite hints at the quiet care behind the kitchen doors. And while this place isn’t about flash or formality, it quietly earns its place in the hearts of locals and travelers alike—those looking for honest Italian flavors delivered with warmth and just a touch of East Coast charm.

Their wood-fired pizza is pretty exceptional! We ordered mozzarella sticks, a 16 inch pizza, (half pepperoni & onion half pepperoni, mushroom, and green pepper) grilled chicken salad, and drinks. Although slightly overpriced, I believe you get what you pay for. The pizza was ever so slightly overcooked, but the overall flavor output that. I will say, the ONLY dressing that comes with a salad is their house made balsamic; they do NOT have ranch! They have a mini diner esc counter suitable for larger parties that seems quite nice. Their homemade tea is phenomenal! They have outdoor seating and plenty of parking. HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the area. They won that ‘best pizza in ocean city’ award for a reason!

As a father, one of my greatest joys is seeing my children smile. Being a vegetarian, I have a soft spot for pizza, and most kids love it too—so maybe I’m still a kid at heart as we travel. During our trip, we discovered a fantastic pizza place in Ocean City, Maryland, recommended by Reddit, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I’ve never had a pizza as rich and flavorful as this one—cheesy, crispy, and delicately thin-sliced. Imagine spaghetti paired with the perfect sauce—basil, tomato, and oregano blended to perfection—and that’s what this pizza reminded me of. It truly hits the taste buds with a burst of delicious flavor. Don’t just take my word for it—ask my kids. If they like the food, you know it’s good. This spot is easily one of the best pizza joints in Ocean City, rivaling those in Brooklyn, New York. Having been a truck driver for many years, I’ve tasted a wide range of foods, and this place brought me right back to the Big Apple! What a lovely surprise! My family and I stopped in for lunch and were genuinely impressed by the warm atmosphere and truly authentic Italian food. The spinach and mushroom lasagna was absolutely delicious—freshly made, rich in flavor, and nothing like those frozen meals you often get elsewhere. The “Milan” pizza was a dream—thin, crispy crust, with top-quality prosciutto, cheese, and fragrant pesto made with extra virgin olive oil. Pure perfection! We wanted to try the cannoli for dessert, but the cream had just run out. To our delight, the manager offered to make a fresh batch from scratch if we were willing to wait a bit. That kind of care and attention to guests is rare and truly appreciated. Huge thanks to the kind manager (I wish I had asked her name)—you made our visit feel special. Next time we’re in Ocean City, we’re definitely coming back here. Highly recommended!

Love this find! Tucked behind the Burger King! Let me tell you the staff are super friendly. They seem like they’re having a great time. The food is incredible. The pizza is the subs can’t lose here worth every penny! So happy Tammy and I stumbled on this place.!

I heard this place had the best cheesesteak, so I stopped in to try. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but not Philly good. No place compares to a Philly cheesesteak. The meat was dry and you have to get a topping to avoid this. The place was busy and it took about 30 mins to make. Noticed on the menu they offered “flavored iced tea” and notified sweet and unsweet brewed team next to the soda machine (not labeled with the flavor). Purchased a drink to try and it was flavored with either mint or cinnamon? It was pretty good and different!! The flavor was not overpowering.

Our 3rd day in OC, thanks be to God…we found a good restaurant. It was packed when we got there, ordered it to go. It was a 25-min wait, which was great as we walked down about a block and caught an amazing sunset. The food was delicious, great service and affordable. They serve giant slices and 36 inch pies. Fresh and delicious food. It is located behind Burger King.

The brick oven was the main draw for ordering here. I ordered the tomato and arugula pizza, onion rings and my husband ordered a chicken parm sub. The pizza was delicious with lots of toppings and well cooked with a nice crispy crust. The order of onion rings was plentiful and also cooked very well. My husband liked the sub but thought it was a little too salty. I really liked that you can watch the pizza being cooked while the person attending the oven took great care to ensure an even bake. Overall very pleased.
